Hello people!
Yes it's been a while, but I have an excuse, I was binging Jujutsu Kaisen instead of packing for our move.
And I'm gonna do you a favour because I know you won't read a wall of text, you're not gen X. So I will split everything we've watched Γnto two newsletters because it's been two months since the last edition. Yes, I'm nice like that, you're welcome!
See you (hopefully) next week.

Seen in the Cinema π¬
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie
Starring: Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg
"I just need to accept that these movies are not catered to me anymore. Non-stop action, paper-thin and non-sensical script, higher and higher stakes. I miss old-school action movies where the hero didnβt have to do 10 impossible feats in 2hrs to save the world π₯²"
Movies
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (εε ΄η εͺθ‘ε»»ζ¦ 0)
Directed by Sunghoo Park
Starring: Megumi Ogata, Kana Hanazawa, Yuichi Nakamura, Takahiro Sakurai
"Happy to see an anime movie that is actually part of the continuity! A prequel focusing on a new character and filling in the gaps between season 1 and 2. It was tight, it felt like a proper movie and was greatly enjoyable."
His Three Daughters
Directed by Azazel Jacobs
Starring: Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Olsen, Jay O. Sanders
"A family portrait that feels very realistic. Youβre gonna be spared nothing. Everything is more complex than it seems at first sight. All of this combined with an impeccable cast, and you have the recipe for a beautiful and intimate glimpse at life and its hardships."
"Well acted by three great women. A story of love, family and sisterhood that will warm your heart. Itβs harsh and painful in a beautiful way. The true colors of what it means to be family are not exaggerated but perfectly portrayed in a beautiful grey area, like life itself."
Directed by Thea Sharrock
Starring: Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley, Anjana Vasan, Timothy Spall
"A widely enjoyable movie with contagious energy. Prime acting from the whole cast (is there anything Olivia Colman cannot play?). A feminist tale actually based on a true story! And a special mention to the wildly inventive cursing throughout the whole film."
TV Series
Jujutsu Kaisen (εͺθ‘ε»»ζ¦)
Directed by Shota Goshozono
Starring: TBA
"What a season! It feels like most things fall into places, we get some incredible fights, a prequel very interesting part, a darker and darker vibe. An adult shΕnen that feels more realistic than most. And an ending that will leave you craving for more. A must-watch."
Your Friends & Neighbors
Directed by Jonathan Tropper
Starring: Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee
"I certainly enjoyed it enough. Not all storylines are interesting, but the main one is captivating enough to keep me hooked, despite some inconsistencies. IF you like soapy dramas, itβs worth a shot! Not convinced by a season 2 though."
The Last of Us
Directed by Nina Lopez-Corrado
Starring: Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Isabela Merced
"A tale about vengeance in an apocalyptic world? Deal! A season that will shock you through and through. Why only 7 episodes though? It felt like itβs missing a couple."
Jujutsu Kaisen (εͺθ‘ε»»ζ¦)
Directed by Shota Goshozono
"A shΕnen in the purest tradition. Nothing unique about it so far, except maybe for the darker tone, but very well made and animated. Gojo = β€"
