Good afternoon dear readers,

We spent this week under the mark of the nazis, and while these were interesting films, I spent a bit too much time thinking about the Holocaust 😬.
If you can, do not miss out on The Brutalist in the cinema, it is a one of a kind experience to enjoy on the big screen.

Enjoy!

The Brutalist
πŸ† TOP PICK

Directed by Brady Corbet

Drama

"Such a powerful movie. Or movies I should say. Impeccable interpretation from the whole cast. A real care brought to directing. Light and pain at difficult levels. I got carried away with the story and found myself immersed in that post-WW2 immigration journey. A chronicle of unimaginable resilience. The film did not feel too long, the first part really flew by."

Nadine: πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ—

"This movie has one of the most beautiful soundtracks I have heard in a while and of course Adrien Brody's acting is impeccable. The characters have a real depth to them and the 4 hours really don't feel heavy at all. Furthermore, the concept about art and architecture, the sensibility of it all…it's just beautiful. It's a story of how art helps victims channel pain, how it gives them a will to leave and ultimately becomes their redemption and their voice. It's almost a 5 for me! I just got a bit lost at the end but in general its soooo worth watching πŸ™Œ."

The Zone of Interest
Aurel: πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ—πŸŒ‘

"The horridly mundane, everyday life, of a high-ranking nazi family seldomly disturbed by glimpses of one of the darkest hours of modern times."

Nadine: πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ—πŸŒ‘

"I liked that it was based on a real Nazi family and it got me intrigued on how the children and grand children of Nazi soldiers have dealt with their family history."

Sweet Dreams

Directed by Lije Sarki

Starring: Johnny Knoxville, Bobby Lee, Jay Mohr, Kate Upton

Comedy
Aurel: πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ‘πŸŒ‘

"A very simple script checking all the boxes of that type of movies but doing it well and with lovable characters/actors. I was impressed by the acting skills of Johnny Knoxville, he really delivered when needed."

Nadine: πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ—πŸŒ‘πŸŒ‘

"It's better than I expected it to be, funny and sweet at times but it's not a movie I will remember."
